DISSOLVE - SASQUATCH release 12 Dec 2016

The new Dissolve EP was supposed to be released in December, but we actually conducted a Hardcore Miracle and ended up releasing it in mid-November. All pre-orders went out early, and the band had it for sale at their show with Carcass on November 21.

This record, like the Recon record, is very near and dear to my heart. Dissolve is one of my favorite bands of all time, no question. I've loved this band since the first time I saw them, in 1995. I have their lyrics tattooed on me. But even more important than being one of the greatest bands, they're some of my greatest friends. When I was a young hardcore kid, they really took me under their wings, as the saying goes. Rode with them to so many shows, crashed on their couches, they hooked my bands up with shows, etc. These guys took me to my first out-of-state shows, I drove for them on the occasional weekend of shows, and I did my first East Coast tour with Chuck and Paul's other band. And we've remained friends throughout the years, for two decades now. I don't really want to bore y'all with reminiscing, but I wanted to explain how much it means to me to be putting out this record. I had originally written like two pages of this shit, and then the computer crashed, which is probably for the better.

As for the record itself, this is the first new Dissolve release since "Caveman of the Future" in 2008, which was actually recorded way before that. This pressing is limited to 300, about half of which are already gone. There are 100 on red, 100 on green, and 100 on "lunar splatter." We did red to match the special color of the first Dissolve 7" from 94, we did green because Chuck really wanted to have a green record, and we did the white and black splatter because I thought it would look kind of like the moon. It does. The splatter variant is exclusive to this webstore.

Dissolve was joined shortly after the recording of this EP by Will Dahl (ex-Harley's War), who replaced Jamie's brother John. John had been in the band since the beginning, but he decided it was time to step down, and the band felt that Will would be the man for the job. Will actually wrote some of the riffs on the band's second CD, mixed their first CD, and was in Implode many years ago with Chuck and Todd. Will was there in the van for many of the aforementioned weekends; he was pretty much the 6th member already.

Look for a lot more Dissolve shows (and more?!) in 2017.
